Donald R. Payseur is an entrepreneur, author, and commercial pilot whose work explores leadership, resilience, and the discipline required to recover from failure. He is the founder of Coastal Broadband, a regional internet service provider serving communities across coastal Georgia, and has spent decades building and rebuilding businesses in demanding, highly regulated environments where decisions carry real-world consequences.
Drawing from a lifetime in aviation and business, Payseur writes about the intersection of responsibility, character, and second chances. His memoir Flying High: How Everything I Learned About Faith, Life, and Business, I Learned from the Cockpit reflects on the lessons that emerge when professional discipline falters—and the long, deliberate path back through accountability, mentorship, and structure.
His second book, The Dad Who Adopted Me, is a deeply personal exploration of family, commitment, and the life-shaping power of choosing responsibility when it matters most.
Payseur’s latest work, Cleared to Land, brings his aviation experience to a new generation of readers. The novel follows a young pilot forced into an unimaginable situation at 35,000 feet, where courage, training, and calm decision-making may be the only things standing between disaster and survival.
In addition to writing, Payseur speaks to business leaders, civic groups, and community organizations about mentorship, decision-making under pressure, and the long view of success.
He lives in coastal Georgia with his wife and family.
